DISCOVERY REFEREE
STANDARD DISCOVERY REFEREE CASES:
$600 per hour
CONSULTATIONS
$400 - $600 per hour
EXTRAORDINARY MATTERS
Multi-party and multi-million-dollar cases are not standard. These are billed at $12,000 per day.
OVERTIME / AFTER HOURS / WEEKEND / POST MEDIATION WORK
An overtime rate applies to evening and weekend appointments. This is calculated at time and one-half.
Significant post-mediation work is charged at an hourly rate.
TRAVEL
Travel for cases in Fresno or Bakersfield is $500 (flat rate).
Travel for cases beyond Fresno and Bakersfield is $250 per hour.
No travel is charged for Class Action, PAGA and extraordinary matters.
CANCELATION AND DEPOSIT POLICIES
MEDIATIONS / HALF-DAY ARBITRATIONS
Notice of cancelation must be received at least seven full calendar days in advance of the hearing date.
I do not bill for deposits in advance of mediations and half day arbitrations. Waivers of the cancelation fee are granted only in extraordinary circumstances. It is rare that I am able to backfill time within seven days prior to a hearing. If I am able to do so, the time will be credited.
Half day: $1,750
Full day: $3,750
ARBITRATIONS SCHEDULED FOR ONE OR MORE DAYS
A deposit is due for the full arbitration fee at least sixty days before the arbitration hearing.
Notice of cancelation must be received at least forty-five days in advance of the hearing date to avoid forfeiture of the deposit. Every reasonable effort will be made to backfill the time. If I am able to do so, the time will be credited.
